とします。

の元となった読売の社説の日本語は，”(博物館の資金難）文化施設の維持は国の責務だ”となっている。私であれば，よりspecificに，

Financial difficulty of museums: Cultural facilities should be maintained under Govt's responsibility.

とします。なお，日本語は，nationとgovernmentが混同して使われることが多い。典型例は，government debtが，日本語では”国債”になってします。上記の場合の”国”は，governmentの意味。

なお，ワシントンポスト紙は，

という記事を書いています。。
