職場での騒音

親子で作った野鳥の餌台が抜群の効果をあげているなか、ジョンとメアリーが朝のコーヒーを飲みながら話を始めます。ジョンの職場でトラブルがあるようです。

J: I can't wait to take down those bird feeders!
M: The birds are really getting to you.
J: It's not only that. There's construction going on next door at work.
M: Oh?
J: They've been jackhammering for the last four days. I can't hear myself think!
M: Have you talked to the construction crew foreman?
J: That won't do any good.
M: You never know.

Ｊ：あの餌台を速く取り外したいよ！
Ｍ：鳥たちのせいで、あなたは気分がよくないのね。
Ｊ：それだけじゃないんだ。職場の隣で建設工事が進んでいるんだ。
Ｍ：それで？
Ｊ：ここ４日間、削岩機を使いっぱなしなんだ。うるさくってものも考えられないんだ！
Ｍ：工事の現場監督とは話をしたの？
Ｊ：そんなことなんの役にも立たないさ。
Ｋ：わからないわよ。

ジョンの職場では、隣で建設工事が進んでいます。とてもうるさく、彼はものを考えられません！彼は現場監督と話をするかもしれません。
