セーターを洗う

ホームステイをしている学生が、他の洗濯物と一緒に洗濯機でセーターを洗おうとしています。ホストファミリーの母親がそれを見て・・・。

M: You'll shrink your sweater if you wash it with that load.
S: Yeah?
M: Wash it by hand with a little detergent.
S: Okay. I'll wash it in the sink. (He does so.) Now how do you get the water out?
M: Lay it flat on a towel. Then roll up the towel and squeeze it gently.
S: Great.Thanks.
M: No sweat.

Ｍ：その洗濯物と一緒に洗うと、あなたのセーター縮むわよ。
Ｓ：そうですか？
Ｍ：洗剤を少し使って手洗いしたらいいわ。
Ｓ：はい。流しで洗います。（そうする。）さて、今度は水気をどうやって取りますか？
Ｍ：タオルの上に平らに広げて。それからタオルを巻き上げて、やさしく絞るの。
Ｓ：わかりました。ありがとう。
Ｍ：お安い御用。

母親がホームステイしている学生に、セーターは洗濯機ではなく、手で洗うようアドバイスします。彼は水気のとりかたも教わります。
