３度目の正直

テリーは、いつも使っている電動のチェーンソーが故障したので、隣人のドロシーからガソリン駆動のチェーンソーを借りました。ところが・・・。

T: Dorothy, I think your chainsaw is out of gas!
D: I'll be right there, Terry!
T: It doesn't start.
D: I know a trick or two about chainsaws.
T: Okay, clue me in.
D: Put this lever in this position. Now pull the starter rope.( Pull rope twice. )
T: No go.
D: Third time's the charm.
T: ( Motor starts up ) You're right! Thanks!

T：ドロシー、君のチェンソー、ガソリン切れだよ！
D：すぐ行くわ、テリー！
T：スタートしないんだよ。
D：チェーンんソーのコツなら結構知っているの。
T：じゃあ、教えてもらおうかな。
D：このレバーをこの位置にセットして。そしたらスターターロープを引く。（ロープを２回引く）
T：うまくいかないね。
D：３度目の正直。
T:（エンジンがかかる）君の言う通りだ！ありがとう！

テリーは、ドロシーからチェンソーを借りますが、スタートしません。
ドロシーはスターターロープを２度引っ張りますがダメです。３度目に動きます。
Terry borrows a chainsaw from Dorothy, but it doesn't start.
Dorothy pulls the starter rope twice, but no go.
It starts on the third times.
