アツシは、電話で友人のフランとやっと連絡がとれました。
A: We finally get to catch up with each other!
F: Yes! What's new, Atsushi?
A: We got a turtle named Kame-chan for the kids.
F: Nice. They'll learn the responsibilities that come with a pet.
A: That was the idea.
F: Oh?
A: Guess who's taking care of Kame-chan now?
F: No!
A: Yes, Fran. That's the way it goes!
Ａ：やっとあれこれと話ができるね！
Ｆ：ええ！変わったことは、アツシ？
Ａ：うちで子供らにカメちゃんという名のカメを飼ったんだ。
Ｆ：いいわね。ペットに伴う責任を学ばせる。
Ａ：そのはずだったんだ。
Ｆ：ええ？
Ａ：当ててごらん、今誰がカメちゃんを世話しているのか。
Ｆ：そんなあ！
Ａ；そうなんだ、フラン。ものごとがそういうことさ！
アツシとフランは、やっと情報交換をすることになります。アツシはフランに、自分たちは子供たちにカメを飼ったと言います。しかし、今は彼が世話しています！
Atsushi and Fran finally catch up with each other. Atsushi tells Fran that he got a turtle for the kids. But now he is taking care of it!
