J: What's the best way to pick an apple?
R: Twist the stem upward. If the apple comes off easily, it's ready to eat.
J: Like this?
R: There you go.
J: There's a wormhole in this one.
R: I'll save that for the birds.
J: (later) I have more than enough apples now. Can I help you pick some?
R: Sure, if you like.
Ｊ：リンゴの一番上手なもぎかたは？
Ｒ：軸を上のほうへひねって。もし簡単にもげたら、たべごろよ。
Ｊ：こんなふうに？
Ｒ：そうです。
Ｊ：これには虫食い穴があるけれど。
Ｒ：それは鳥たちの餌にとっておきまあす。
Ｊ：（しばらくして）リンゴはもう十二分に採りました。もぐのを少し手伝いましょうか？
Ｒ：はい、よろしければ。
林子は、リンゴの一番上手なもぎかたをジョニーに教えます。そのあと、彼は十二分にリンゴを採り、すこしもぐのを手伝いましょうかと彼女に尋ねます。彼女は申し出に応じます。
Rinko tells Johnny that the best way to pick an apple. Then, he picks up the apples, and said, "Can I help you pick some?" She says "Yes".
