ジムにやってきた女性が、ウェイトトレーニングをしている知人の男性に声をかけ、友人のロブのことを尋ねます。

W: Have you seen Rob around?
M: He moved to Elktown.
W: He did? He owes me money!
M: That's par for the course.
W: I thought he was my friend!
M: That Rob is a real sweet talker. He owes a lot. of people in town money.
W: (on the verge of tears) How could he do this to me?
M: You have to roll with the punches.

Ｗ：最近ロブをここで見かけました？
Ｍ：エルクタウンへ引っ越したよ。
Ｗ：ええ？私に借金があるんだけれど！
Ｍ：それは想定内のことだね。
Ｗ：友だちだと思っていたのに！
Ｍ：あのロブというヤツは口がうまくってね。街のたくさんの人に借金があるんだ。
Ｗ：（泣きそうになって）よくもこんなことができるものだわ。
Ｍ：なんとか乗り切らねばね。

ロブは、その女性に借金がありますが、ほかの街へ引っ越ししてしまいました。彼女のジムの友だちは、それは想定内のことであり、なんとか乗り切らねば、と言います。
Rob owes that women's money, but he has moved to another town. Her gym friend says that that's par or the course, and she has to roll with the punches.
