２灯の犬、マックスとルーシーは、同じ飼い主が買っている猫のベラについて話をしています。

M: Bella has been grooming herself all afternoon!
L: You have to admit she has a beautiful coat.
M: But she's so vain!
L: Cats are programmed to groom themselves often. Fur maintenance is very important for them.
M: Hmph!
L: Well, Max, you're overdue for a bath if you don't mind my saying so.
M: What are you talking about, Lucy?
L: I'm going to go hang out with Bella.

Ｍ：ベラは午後ずっと自分の毛繕いをしている！
Ｌ：彼女が美しい毛並みを持っていることは、認めなければね。
Ｍ：でも彼女は自信過剰だよ！
Ｌ：猫はしょっちゅう毛繕いをするようにプログラムされているのよ。体毛のメンテナンスは彼らにとって、とても重要なんだから。
Ｍ：ふん！
Ｌ：ええと、マックス、言わせてもらえば、入浴が延び延びになっているわよ。
Ｍ：君は何を言っているんだ、ルーシー？
Ｌ：ベラと一緒に遊びに行くつもりなの。

私の猫は、しょっちゅう毛繕いをしています。猫はそうするようにプログラムされているようです。もっと彼女が私と一緒にいてくれたらいいのですが。
My cat has been grooming herself often. Cats are programmed to do it. I wish her could go hang out with me.
