The Strange Sign
不可解なサイン

ホテルに近づいたシャーリーとハーヴィーに、隣の車のドライバーから親愛のサインを送ります。ところが、角を２本立てたようなその手の形から、二人は悪魔を連想してしまいます。

S: That man is making a strange hand signal at us.
H: It looks like the sign of the devil. Should I turn?
S: Yes. Go, go!
H: He turned, too. He's flowing us!
S: Speed up! There's the entrance to our hotel. Pull in, quick! (The car pulls in and stops.)
H: I'm asking the bellboy about that sign. (A few moments later)
S: So what's the deal?
H: (Laughing) The hand sign is called "shaka". It means "hang loose"!

S：あの男性が私たちに手で何か変なサインを送っているわ。
H：悪魔のサインのように見える。曲がるべきかな？
S：ええ。行って、行って！
H：彼も曲がった。我々を追いかけている！
S：もっとスピードを上げて！あそこにホテルの入り口が。車を入れて・・・早く！（車、ホテルに入って止まる）
H：ベルボーイにあのサインのことを聞いてみるよ。（ややあって・・・）
S：で、何か分かった？
H：（笑いながら）あのハンドサインは「シャカ」というんだそうだ。「気楽にいこう」という意味だって！

その男性が彼らに手でなにか変なサインを送りました。彼らは急いでホテルの入り口に車を入れました。ベルボーイはそのサインは「気楽にいこう」という意味だと、彼らに言いました。
