同じ日の午後、ジョン、メアリー、リオが昼食を終えたところに誰かから電話がかかってきます。

L: Do you think we'll ever find Pookie?
M: No doubt about it. Your signs are working, Leo.
(Telephone rings.)
J: Hello?
S: Hi. Are you the people with the lost dog?
J: Yes!
S: There's a light brown dog playing with mu dog at Eastside Dog Park. I have a hunch it's your dog.
J: We're on our way!
S: Oh! He took off! He's running down King Street!
J: Okay, thanks!

Ｌ：プーキーは本当に見つかると思う？
Ｍ：間違いないわよ。あなたの張り紙が役立っているからね、リオ。
（電話が鳴る）
Ｊ：もしもし？
Ｓ：あの、犬が迷子になっているのはお宅ですか？
Ｊ：ええ！
Ｓ：イーストサイド・ドッグパークで私の犬と遊んでいる薄茶色の犬がいます。私の勘ですが、お宅の犬だと思います。
Ｊ：そちらへ向かいます！
Ｓ：あ！走って行ってしまいました！キング通りを走って行きます！
Ｊ：わかりました、ありがとうございます。



大きなイベントが近づいています。宣伝があまり役立っていません。でも私の勘ですが、それは成功すると思っています。
There's the big event coming up. But the advertisements aren't working. However, I have a hunch the big event is going to be a success.
