カーディナルの宿敵
ジョンとリオが外で鳥の話をしていると、メアリーが用事を頼みに家から出てきます。
M: I hate to interrupt your conversation, but we're out of eggs.
J: I'll go pick some up. Be right back. (Going to the truck.) That cardinal is pecking the side mirror of the truck!
M: Uh-oh. What have we gotten ourselves into!
L: He's mistaking his reflection for a male rival! I need a picture of that!
M: Don't go near that bird, young man!
L: But, Mom! It's part of my science project!
Ｍ：話の最中にごめんなさい。卵が切れてしまったの。
Ｊ：買ってくるよ。すぐ戻る。（トラックまで行く）あのカーディナルがトラックのサイドミラーをつついている！
Ｍ：あーあ。私たち、一体どうなっちゃってるの？
Ｌ：あれは鏡に映った地分をライバルのオスだと勘違いしているんだ！写真を撮らなくっちゃ！
Ｍ：あの鳥に近づいてはだめよ！
Ｌ：でも、ママ！これは科学の課題の一部なんだ！
例のカーディナルがトラックのサイドミラーをつついています。リオはその写真を撮らなくてはなりません。それは彼の科学の課題の一部なのです。
The cardinal is pecking the side mirror of the truck. Leo needs a picture of that. It's part of his science project.
