The Night before the Party
パーティー前夜

学生の目眼は、友人のためのパーティーに料理を作るつもりですが、別の友人ディランに出席者数を尋ねてみると・・・。

M: How many people are coming to the party, Dylan?
D: Gee, I don't know, Megan.
M: Give me a ballpark figure.
D: I'd say 20 or 25?
M: That many?
D: (exasperated) At this stage of the game, we should just order pizza.
M: I thought you were going to make some Italian dishes.
D: Yeah. Well, pizza is an Italian dish.

Ｍ：パーティーには何人来るの、ディラン？
Ｄ：いやあ、わかんないよ、メガン。
Ｍ：ざっくりとした数を教えて。
Ｄ：２０〜２５人・・・といったところかな？
Ｍ：そんなに大勢？
Ｄ：３０人かも・・・？
Ｍ：（動揺して）こうなった以上、私たち、ピザを頼むべきだわ。
Ｄ：君がイタリア料理をいくつか作るのだと思ってたけど。
Ｍ：ええ。ま、ピザはイタリア料理だし・・・。

パーティーに何人来るのかをメガンはディランに尋ねます。ディランは彼女にざっくりとした数を教え、彼女はイタリア料理をいくつか作るかわりにピザを頼むことにします。
Megan told Dylan how many people are coming to the party. Dylan gibes her a ballpark figure, and she orders pizza instead of making some Italian dishes.
