プーキーの影も形もなし
ジョン、メアリー、リオは、プーキーを探しに近所を車で回りましたが、成果なく帰宅しました。ジョンが黙りこくっています。
M: John, you're so quiet. A penny for your thoughts.
J: (Upset) I feel really bad about Pookie. It was thoughtless of me not to shut the gate.
M: Don't be too hard on yourself. We'll find Pookie sooner or later.
J: Okay. I'll call the animal shelter and see if anyone has dropped him off.
M: And I'll go talk to the neighbors.
L: I'll make signs!
Ｍ：ジョン、とても静かね。何を考えているの？
Ｊ：（動揺して）プーキーの子とは本当に悪いと思っている。ボクがゲートを閉めなかったのは軽率だった。
Ｍ：自分をあまり責めないで。遅かれ早かれプーキーを見つけるんだから。
Ｊ：わかった。アニマルシェルターに電話して届けられていないか聞いてみるよ。
Ｍ：じゃあ私は近所に話をしにいくわ。
Ｌ：ボクは張り紙を作るよ！

It was thoughtless of John not to shut the gate. But he doesn't be too hard on himself. We will find Pookie sooner or later.
