Union Square

午前中、フィッシャーマンズワーフを見物したリヴは、ランチタイムにイアンとユニオンスクエアで待ち合わせました。

I: So you braved the crowds at the wharf this morning.
L: Yes!
I: That whole area is rather touristy.
L: It is, but I loved it. I got to see the sea lions at Pier 39!
I: The sea lions are a big draw.
L: Yeah. I could've watched them all day.
I: Say, you got new shoes! Are they comfy?
L: Yes. And warm.
I: Nice!

Ｉ：じゃあ、今朝はワーフの大混雑に挑んだのだね。
Ｌ：そうなの！
Ｉ：あの地域全体は結構観光地化しているから。
Ｌ：ええ、でもよかったわ。ピア３９でアシカを見ることができたし！
Ｉ：アシカは集客の目玉なんだ。
Ｌ：うん。私、一日寿でも見ていられたかも。
Ｉ：ねえ、新しい靴を買ったね！楽かい？
Ｌ：ええ。それに暖かい。
Ｉ：いいねえ！



私は昨夜、毎年恒例の宇都串祭（うつくしさい）の大混雑に挑みました。そこでたくさんの友達に会うことができました。一晩中でも一緒に話していられたかもしれません。
I braved the crowds at the annual Utuskushi Festival. I got see many my friends. I could've talk all day.



今回のAnother situation dialog では、リヴが東京の満員電車に挑戦しました。そこでリヴは、駅員が乗客を押し込んでいる光景を目の当たりにしました。しかも、すし詰めの超満員状態であったため、リヴは靴をなくしてしまったようです・・・。

さて、今度はリブが仙石線に乗って仙台うみの杜水族館に行ったようですが・・・。

L: Yes!
I: That train is rather touristy.
L: I loved it. I got to see the sea lions at Sendai Uminomori Aquarium!
I: The sea lions are a big draw.
L: Year. I could've watched them all day.
I: Say, you don't have your shoes on! What happened?
L: I think I lost on the train.
I: Great...
たしかに平日朝の仙石線は、仙台駅に近づくほど混雑が激しくなりますからね・・・
