11月は泡盛月間！November Named "Awamori Month!"

最近の地元新聞で、ジェトロによると、２０１６年の日本産酒類の輸出は日本酒が約１５６億円で７年連続過去最高を更新したが、焼酎・泡盛は約２０億円にとどまっている。ジェトロ沖縄所長は、「泡盛の海外展開での課題は知名度不足。・・・」という記事が掲載されていた。
A couple of days ago I read an article on Awamori in a local newspaper, which said "According to JETRO, Japan's sake exports reached an all-time high for a seventh straight year in 2016, rising to about USD 138 million; however, shochu and awamori exports remain as low as about USD 18 million. The chief of JETRO, Okinawa told the reporter "A big issue in the overseas expansion of awamori is having had a its lack of name recognition....""
