現在でも良く見かけるのは、「屋根シーサー」ですね。
Nowadays, we often see "Yane Shisa (shisa standing alone on the roof)."
「屋根シーサー」が明治以降に置かれる様になる迄は、村落単位でシーサーが置かれ、村を守っていたそうです。
"Yane Shisa"started to be built in the Meiji period, and before that, shisa had been constructed in every village to protect villages.
