現代を代表する歌姫の一人、デンマークの歌姫で世界的に知られているのが、シーネ・エイです。
名前の綴りのデンマーク語の発音がデファクト・スタンダードになるまでは米国のラジオ放送ではシーネ・イーグと呼ばれたりして混乱していました（笑）

Wikipedia にもありますように彼女は米国で Janet Lawson について歌の勉強をしています。
彼女は多くの曲を英語で歌っていて、知られているアルバムも英語で歌っているのですが、それ以外にデンマーク語で歌ったアルバムもあるようです（未確認）

彼女は何度も来日しており、このコミュの参加者の中には彼女のライブに行かれた方がいらっしゃるかもしれません。

彼女は作曲にも才を発揮していて、彼女のアルバムの多くは自作曲や耳にしたことがない曲が大半で、それらを聴きながらうっとりしていると、超有名なスタンダード曲のトラックが出てきて、改めて上手いなぁと感じさせてくれるという仕掛けが多いことに気が付きます。
彼女の歌唱スタイルは、しっかりとしたメインストリーム・ジャズの系譜でありながら、そのレンダリングが自在であり独創的であり、聴きながら「う〜ん」とうならせてくれるところがあります。
