そして、マイルス・ディヴィスの最晩年に、彼の最後の録音になる、彼をサイドメンとして録音した、彼女のアルバム You Won't Forget Me (1991) もよく知られています。

彼女はワシントン・Ｄ・Ｃで生れ育ち、当地で音楽活動を始め、1960年に地元の小さな独立系のレコード会社で初アルバムになる Embers and Ashes を録音しました。

このアルバムを耳にしたマイルス・ディヴィスが彼女に電話をかけ、例のしわがれ声で、「N.Y. にでてこないか」とさそったのです。
この電話を受けたシャーリーは、いたずら電話だと思って「いいわよ」と返事をしてしまったのです。

日本人歌手でソングブック・アルバムを作る人は非常に少ないように思うのですが、シャーリー・ホーンのソングブック・アルバムを作ってしまうという心意気はなかなかのものでしょう。
アルバムタイトルはシャーリー・ホーンの代表曲 "Here's to Life" にかけたものになっています。
