When you're smilin' keep on smilin'
The whole world smiles with you
And when you're laughin' oh when youre laughin'
The sun comes shinin? through
But when you?re cryin' you bring on the rain
So stop your sighin 'be happy again
keep on smilin Cause when you're smilin'
The whole world smiles with you
Oh when you're smilin' keep on smilin'
The whole world smiles with you
Ah when you're laughin' keep on laughin'
The sun comes shinin' through
This lovely day will lengthen into evening
We'll sigh goodbye to all we ever had
Alone where we have walked together
I'll remember April and be glad
I'll be content you loved me once in April
Your lips were warm, and love and spring were new
I'm not afraid of autumn and her sorrow
For I'll remember April and you
The fire will dwindle into glowing ashes
For flames live such a little while
I won't forget, but I won't be lonely
I'll remember April and smile
A country dance was being held in a garden
I felt a bump and heard an "Oh, beg your pardon"
Suddenly I saw polka dots and moonbeams
All around a pug-nosed dream
The music started and was I the perplexed one
I held my breath and said "May I have the next one?"
In my frightened arms, polka dots and moonbeams
Sparkled on a pug-nosed dream
There were questions in the eyes of other dancers
As we floated over the floor
There were questions but my heart knew all the answers
And perhaps a few things more
Now in a cottage built of lilacs and laughter
I know the meaning of the words "Ever after"
And I'll always see polka dots and moonbeams
When I kiss the pug-nosed dream
So I walk a little too fast and I drive a little too fast
And I’m reckless it’s true, but what else can you do
At the end of a love affair?
So I talk a little too much and I laugh a little too much
And my voice is too loud when I’m out in a crowd
So that people are apt to stare
Do they know, do they care, that it’s only that I’m lonely
And low as can be?
And the smile on my face isn’t really a smile at all!
So I smoke a little too much and I drink a little too much
And the tunes I request aren’t always the best
But the ones where the trumpets blare!
So I go at a maddening pace, and I pretend that it’s taking your place
But what else can you do, at the end of a love affair?
So I smoke a little too much and I drink a little too much
And the tunes I request aren’t always the best
But the ones where the trumpets blare!
So I go at a maddening pace, and I pretend that it’s taking your place
But what else can you do, at the end of a love affair?
"On a clear day you can see forever" 「
On a clear day
Rise and look around you
And you will see who you are
On a clear day
How it will astound you
That the glow of your being
Outshines every star
You'll feel part of every mountain
Sea and shore
And you can hearfrom far and near
A world you've never heard before
But on that clear day
On that clear day
You can see forever
And ever
ever more
I wish you bluebirds in the spring, to give your heart a song to sing,
And then a kiss, but more than this, i wish you love.
And if you like lemonade to cool you in some leafy glade,
I wish you health, and more than wealth, i wish you love.
My breaking heart and i agree that you and i could never be,
So with my best, my very best, I set you free.
I wish you shelter from the storm, a cozy fire to keep you warm,
Most of all, when snowflakes fall, i wish you love.
(musical interlude)
I wish you shelter from the storm, a cozy fire to keep you warm,
Most of all, when snowflakes fall, hot time, i wish you love.
All kinds of love, a whole gang of love.
A foggy day in London town
Had me low, had me down
I viewed the morning with much alarm
British Museum had lost its charm
How long I wondered, could this thing last
But the age of miracles hadn't passed
For suddenly I saw you there
And through foggy London town
The sun was shining everywhere...
Don't whisper things to me you don't mean,
For words deep down inside can be seen by the night.
The night has a thousand eyes,
And it knows a truthful heart from one that lies.
Tho' the romance may have called in the past
My love for you will be everlasting and bright,
As bright as the starlit skies,
And this wondrous night that has a thousand eyes.
I've lived my life walking thru a dream.
For I knew that I would find this moment supreme.
A night of bliss and tender sighs
And the smiling down of a thousand eyes.
Grab your coat and get your hat, leave your worry at the doorstep
Just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street
Can’t you hear that pitter pat and that happy tune is your step
Life can be so sweet on the sunny side of the street
I used to walk in the shade with those blues on parade
But I’m not afraid ’cause this rover, crossed over
If I never had a cent I’ll be as rich as rockfeller
Gold dust at my feet on the sunny side of the street
South of the border, down Mexico way,
That's where I fell in love
When the stars above came out to play.
And now as I wander, my thoughts ever stray
South of the border, down Mexico way.
She was a picture in old Spanish lace.
And for a tender while
I kissed the smile upon her face.
For it was fiesta, and we were so gay
South of the border, down Mexico way.
Then she sighed as she whispered 'manana'
Never dreaming that we were parting.
And I lied as I whispered 'manana'
For our tomorrow never came.
South of the border, I rode back one day
There in a veil of white by candlelight
She knelt to pray.
The mission bells told me that I mustn't stay
South of the border, down Mexico way.
You must take the "A" train
To go to Sugar Hill way up in Harlem
If you miss the "A" train
You`ll find you missed the quickest way to Harlem
Hurry, get on, now it`s coming
Listen to those rails a-thrumming
All aboard, get on the "A" train
Soon you will be on Sugar Hill in Harlem
