Catherine Zata-Jones plays a skillful master chef at an expensive restaurant in NY. As the role of Kate, she dresses, put on make-ups plainly and put her hair up. So, she was different from other movies where she plays a tough and sexy woman like a vamp. Inspite of her plain fashion, she is still beautiful and her black hair is so lovable.
It's the mixture of commedy, romance and family drama. Kate has successful career as a chef and her work is her No. 1 priority as she says, 'my kitchen is everything' She's not social, doesn't trust others and has no romance.
But, she changes by living with her niece, Zoe and getting together with a new male souschef, Nick, who is talented at cooking Italian food and likes Italian music. Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine plays Zoe and Aaron Eckhart in Black Dalia plays Nick.
At first, she has no idea to deal with Zoe and she was always mad at Nick. But, Nick and Zoe add a spice to Kate's mandane life. She tries to experience something that she has never done before.
There's no recipe of life. You should make your own. Cooking or tasting scenes are used effectively in this film and they develop the relationships between Kate, Zoe and Nick. It's a feel good film. Plus, it will make you want to have tasty food and later kiss.
