Lately, my workload has increased to an incredible volume. I'm currently handling ongoing cases—so many that I’m almost afraid to count—but it’s likely reaching nearly 30.
I’ve been wondering why consultations have surged so much. I suspect it’s because when people search for advice on their smartphones, AI now frequently directs them to "188 (the Consumer Hotline)" as a final suggestion.
The phone rings incessantly. Each time, I have to interrupt my data entry and instantly switch my mindset. I’ve never been great at multitasking, so by the end of the day, I am absolutely exhausted.
At work, my boss is doing their best to ensure the call volume is distributed fairly. After a few years of trial and error, a "systematic rotation system" has finally taken root. The six of us are split into morning and afternoon groups of three, and we rotate the order of receiving calls daily. Every morning, my boss hangs large signs (red for morning, blue for afternoon) on our desks to show our roles. I truly admire my boss's thoughtful consideration.
In theory, this system should make things equal. However, I can’t help but feel that my processing volume is somehow higher. Is it because of my own mindset that "it’s common sense to answer within three rings"? Come on, everyone else, pick up!
Every person who comes for a consultation carries deep personal struggles. Just because the numbers are high doesn't mean I can cut corners. I want to continue facing each consultation with all my heart.
Yesterday, I spent a long time listening to a complaint about a colleague’s "cold response." It was a lot to take in... my ears are tired.
I’ve been working overtime almost every day. By the time I get home, I’m so spent that I can’t even do half of what I want to do. It feels like every day is a bit of a "digestive upset" of time.
I really want to read my Goat magazine!!!
Also, I brought home the newspapers I couldn’t finish at work, but yesterday, just flipping through three days' worth was the best I could do. I’m feeling a real dilemma right now: "I want to read, but I have no time."
It’s a problem.
Time is something you create.
And I need to decide on "what I will stop doing."
I want to rethink my priorities.
