Farts

Just come across something about fart:

"What is like a smelly fart that,
although invisible, is obvious?
Our own faults that are precisely as obvious
as the effort made to hide them."
7th Dalai Lama (1708-1757)

My response:

The other day, I read that David Hume, when he was a child,
said, "Oh, don't hurt the poor creature. Itwas me, not Pod,"
when the dog was accused of a foul smell at a dinner in Edingburgh.

Speaking of fart, in the old feudal days of Edo Period,
rich people had maids for their daughters to accompany for their shopping
or having visits to nice places so that those maids could cover up and
conceal farts or their unmarried daughters' natural accidental smells.
