踏切の「開かずの間」と、37回目のボイトレ
昨日は1時間の残業を終えたあと、久しぶりのボイトレへ向かいました。
K先生のご自宅は職場から歩いて20分ほどの場所。
いつものように職場の北側にある踏切を渡ろうとしましたが、T駅に停まった普通電車がなかなか発車しません。
5分、8分と時間が過ぎていきます。
「これは何かおかしい」と直感し、待つのを諦めて線路沿いを歩くことにしました。
結局、何らかのトラブルがあったようで、私が歩いていた15分間、電車は止まったまま踏切も閉まりっぱなしでした。
帰宅ラッシュの時間帯、いつ開くかわからない踏切を待ち続けていた方々は大変だったと思います。
あの時、すぐに歩き出して本当に正解でした。
ボイトレは1月がお休みだったため、少し久しぶりのレッスンです。
2023年10月7日から始まったK先生の個人レッスンも、今回で37回目。
私はすべてメモに残しているので（袋にメモ）、こうして振り返ることができます。

昨日は、まずリップロールを丹念に指導していただきました。
なかなかコツを掴むのが難しいのですが、根気強く向き合っています。
その後の歌唱練習では、『レット・イット・ゴー〜ありのままで〜』の後半部分、英語の歌詞に挑戦しました。
今回はついに最後のサビまで到達！
お腹から声を出すことで、心身ともにとてもスッキリしました。
レッスンのあとで、先生から「息子さんは元気？」と声をかけていただきました。
息子は大学時代、K先生にピアノを習っていた縁があります。

「先生、実はニュースがあるんです。息子、ここ1年以内に結婚するみたいですよ」 と、嬉しい報告をすることができました。
充実のレッスン。
心地よい疲れとともに、幸せなニュースを共有できた素敵な一日となりました。
わせてさらに調整することも可能です。

Yesterday, after working an hour of overtime, I headed to my voice training lesson for the first time in a while.
My teacher, Mrs. K, lives about a 20-minute walk from my office. I usually take the level crossing north of my workplace, but for some reason, the local train stopped at the station wouldn't budge. I waited five minutes, then eight...
Sensing something was wrong, I decided to stop waiting and started walking along the tracks toward Ms. K's house. As it turned out, there had been some kind of trouble. During the 15 minutes I was walking, the train remained stationary and the crossing gates stayed down the entire time. It was rush hour, and I'm sure many people were stuck there not knowing when the gates would finally open. I’m so glad I trusted my gut and started walking.
My voice training was back on track after a break in January. Since I started private lessons with Ms. K on October 7, 2023, I’ve kept a memo of every single one—this was my 37th session!
In yesterday's lesson, we focused carefully on lip rolls. They are still quite tricky, and I’m still trying to get the hang of it. After that, we practiced the English lyrics for the latter half of "Let It Go."
I finally managed to sing all the way through to the final chorus! Singing from my core felt incredibly refreshing and really cleared my head.
After the lesson, Mrs. K asked, "How is your son doing?" My son used to take piano lessons from her back in his university days. I was happy to share some big news: "Actually, teacher, he’s getting married within the year!"
It was a wonderful day—I managed to avoid the traffic trouble, had a fulfilling lesson, and got to share such happy news.
