英会話教室にて

昨日の夜7時からは、週に一度の英会話。
夕方5時半まで残業だったので、心身ともに少しクタクタ……。「今日は自分を甘やかそう！」と決めて、車で向かいました。

教室がある教会には3台分の駐車スペースがあり、夜は空いていることが多いんです。

維持費はかかりますが、こういう時に「あぁ、やっぱり車があってよかった🥰」としみじみ幸せを実感しますね。

少人数での濃いレッスン
昨日はみどりさんがお休みで、生徒はあべちゃん、のりさん、そして私の3人。

「最近のトピックをシェアして」と言われたので、先日の日曜日に参加したイギリスのセミナーの話をしました。

イギリス出身のアリソン先生に、質問！

• ポテトチップス事情
私：「イギリスではビネガー味の『クリスプ（ポテトチップス）』が主流なの？」
先生：「うーん、どうかしら。私はチーズ味が大好き！ビネガーはちょっと苦手かな（笑）」
（本場でも好みは分かれるみたいです！）

• コーヒーよりも断然「紅茶」！
先生は「私は絶対に紅茶派！！！」と断言。

お気に入りのブランドがあるそうなのですが、日本ではなかなか手に入らないため、一時帰国する友人に頼んで買ってきてもらうほどこだわっているそうです。

最後に先生が、「今度手に入ったら、あなたたちにもご馳走するわね🥰」**と約束してくれました。

I had my English class starting at 7:00 last night.
Since I worked overtime until 5:30, I was feeling pretty exhausted. I decided to treat myself and drove there instead of taking public transport.
The church where the school is located has parking space for three cars, and since it’s nighttime, there’s usually a spot available. Being able to go by car makes me so happy🥰. Cars are expensive to maintain, but in moments like this, I truly realize how great it is to have one.
In class, Midori-san was absent, so it was just the three of us: Abe-chan, Nori-san, and me.
When we were asked to share a recent topic, I talked about the British seminar I attended last Sunday.
Our teacher, Alison, is from the UK.
I asked her, "Are vinegar-flavored crisps (we don't say potato chips!) the most popular kind in England?"
She replied, "Hmm, maybe? But I personally love cheese flavor! Vinegar is a bit... much for me," she said with a laugh.
She also told us, "I am definitely a tea person over coffee!!!" Apparently, she has a favorite brand that’s hard to find in Japan, so she asks her friends to bring some back whenever they visit home.
"Next time I get some, I'll treat you all to a cup 🥰," she promised.
