Hi, I'm Alistair (husband of Ose) I too am British living in Japan.

Nice choices - I would've had Empty child in the top three though.
How about the classic series ?
I grew up with Tom Baker (4th Doctor) and for me the best ever is a toss up between Genesis of the Daleks and City of Death.

Hi Alistair,

Yes, the empty child was good, more so on second and repeat viewings. But the climax of series one, the return of Sarah Jane & K9 and the first glimpse of the Dalek put these in my top three. The old series ws ok, and Tom Baker was good, in particular Terror of the Zygons and Genesis spring to mind. Pertwee - Daemons and Sea Devils and Davidson Castrovalva, Black Orchid are all favourites. lost interest with Colin Bakerr and Mcoy. And to be honest enjoyed series one more than series two of the new stuff. Not to say that series 2 is bad, it isnt, just not so enthralled.

I'm Yumi.
I live in England with my English husband who is a big DW fan.
I haven't watched all of the 2nd series but I liked the Sarah Jane ep the best so far.
I liked the Empty Child too, that was a spooky one.
That gas mask and "where's my mummy" thing really scared me!

My favourite Doctor is Tom Baker(as everyone seems to do!) though I haven't watched that many of his era.
Pyramid of Mars etc.
My husband has recently bought Genesis of the Daleks which he says pretty good so we will try and watch it soonish.

Hello Tony, hello Yumi. Glad to here from a Japanese female who likes the show. my wife didn't understand why I liked the original series soo much. She got into the new series with Cristopher Eccleston. I, like Tony Preffered the first new series - although C.E looked like a regular chap, he seemed very alien and full of depth. David Tennant is having fun in the role of the Doctor (Who wouldn't ?) but I think his portrayal is too Jokey.
Yumi I suggest you dig out your husbands 'The beginning' box-set dvd. If he doesn't have it - buy it for him. Classic, the first ever adventure, the first encounter with the daleks and the first and only story set entirely in the tardis.

Sorry, I'm too-chatty this evening. Enjoy the rest of season two !

I've seen an Unearthly Child (just first ep). It was interesting but was told that I'd probably fall asleep at the rest!
I think that's the only William Hartnell story I've seen so far. Oh, I've been told that I saw The War Machines ages ago.

I am still mulling over DOOMSDAY right now, and deciding whether I like [Army of Ghosts / Doomsday] or [Bad Wolf / The Parting of Ways] better...

Hi, i thought Doomsday was a great episode, but i also like Parting of the Ways. Now im looking forward to October when Captain Jack will return in Torchwood, should be good!!! And i am glad that Billie is gone now, time to move on i think.

cant believe it has been 4 months since i wrote about Torchwood, seems only yesterday, yay, only 6 hours to go. So i will go to bed, wake up tomorrow morning, go to circle K get some milk them back to the apartment and watch Torchwood.
