5th Tokyo Regional Gathering Report
★ A party full of activities and ideas to share★
Our 5th Tokyo Gathering was held on Friday, September 14th in Bukyo ward.
We were happy to have 14 participants who also contributed lots of interesting and new
Halloween related activities.
We opened our session with greeting circle activity, saying your own name while passing the candy filled basket. Followings are the activities that were shared among the participants.

★“Ohsama Janken（King’s Janken）, Halloween version”, a popular janken game.
★ Yes No Game : Facts on BATS
★ Pin the nose: Halloween version of “Pin the Tail”.
★ Baby Ghost Game: spoon relay. Transport the cotton ball ghosts on a spoon.
★ Cake walk: Walk around the cards while chanting and stop and read the card.
★ Matching Game
★ Sugoroku (dice game)
★ Halloween Quiz
★ How many candies?: Predicting the number of candies in the jar.
★ Bean Bag Toss Game.
★ Hot and Cold.: Finding the object game. Guiding a person to look for an object by saying the words, hot and cold.
★ Bat game: fan the bat to the cave.
★ Questions and Answers Matching Game
★ Original worksheets were distributed from one of the participants.
★　Handmade costumes were also brought in to share the costume making ideas.

The winner of the activity was the next person in turn to share his/her activity. After each activity, a trick or treat candy was given to the presenter.
It was a time for sharing with actual participation and enjoyment. It is good to know that teachers are very enthusiastic and sharing and they sure know how to enjoy “teaching”.

comments from the participants:

l It was good to know how other teachers guide the students with special care, such as when blind folding use a scarf instead of the eye mask. This gives students less fear as the scarf will be taken off from the teacher’s neck at the scene.
l To do an Jack-O-Lantern activity also introduce different emotional expressions through making of the Jack-O-Lantern.
