So, let's talk about our favorite rhymers, shall we? You know, so more people can join in the fun.
Personally, it was Saul Williams who turned me towards spoken word. Favorite rhymers are Sage Francis, Slug, Murs, Black Thought, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Buck 65, Aesop Rock....damn that list is long.lol
Favorite poets. Ah, now this is tough. Yeats is always great to read. So is some of Kerouac's stuff.
yo yo, yo, hello. hmm, what to say? oh! i joined this commune i guess. and i dig on the poetry i guess so the more the merrier. what i mean is, i myself actually have a community that im trying to make in the same purpose as this one.

so like, yoroshiku or something like that you know?
as for rhymers . . . i guess, emanon, anybody outta antipop, rakka iriscience, gift of gab, brother ali, immortal technique, and everyone already named.
i'm a hip-hop dj in america, and of course interested in this group because of rap music.
my favorite rhymers: Wu-Tang Clan (GZA and Ghostface stand out to me as far as lyricism goes), AZ, Black Thought, Nas, Akrobatik, Chan, and others that I can't remember right now but admire.
In Slam poetry, I also got to know more about that by watching the documentary "SlamNation", in which Saul Williams and the New York team participated. I would highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.
Speaking of Brother Ali, I saw him perform last year at the Indiana University's Hip-Hop Congress Awareness week (I was a student there; I graduated last year :) It was dope, of course

Alright! We got a DJ in the house! Welcome, my man!
I'll check out that film, sounds interesting. The film that inspired me a lot was another Saul Williams one, called "Slam!". That spoken word he does in the prison yard is amazing.
