14.02.2006: In the course of searching a second fast driver JB Motorsport tested with a "Flying Dutchman" last Friday.
The racing team from Roeselare signed on Ferdinand Kool before Christmas. The Netherlander drove already 2005 for the Belgian and convinced of his speed. For the second cockpit JB is among others in negotiation with Renger van der Zande.
Renger van der Zande, also Netherlander, is the whizz kid of the Formula Renault Championships of the last year in Germany and the Netherlands. The 19 years old did not only keep in check the competition with 8 wins and 14 visits on the rostrum, but achieved also the title of the Dutch Formule Renault 2000.
Van der Zande now got the chance by JB Motorsport to test the 2005 Formula3-car in Croix-en-Ternois (F) and put his quality in its true light. "The negotiations are not yet completed but after the test Renger has the best chances to become our second driver," said Yves Olivier, who is impressed by the quick racing driver, "up to the start of the first race at 22nd/23rd of April in Oschersleben the team is not only searching for the second driver. Especially the engineers develop the new 2006 car with the Lola-chassis."
