Let me tell you about a story of my last vacation in Kyoto.

When I stayed in a hotel, I met three guys.
One of them come from South Africa.
His name is Craig. He's white.
Others are a Brit and a guy who comes from somewhere in Europe.
I couldn't get his name and his country, even though I asked him twice.
He looked like Sayid who was starring in the TV drama called Lost.
And I forgot Brit's name. I wonder if his name was Michael ......... I'm not sure.
So, temporarily, I'll call them Jack and Sayid.

We've drunk and smoked in the terrace.
We were talking about where did you go, what did you eat, have you been a public bath and so on.
It sounded they were enjoying in Kyoto.
Then, Sayid showed me a Japanese book, and asked me translate some phrases.
It was a book written by Mitsuo Aida.
As you know he is popular to Japanese young people.

His poetries were simple and easy to translate to even me.
When I told some phrases in English, he looked happy.
He said he had bought it 'cause the calligraphies were cool.
Actually, its calligraphies were cool, so I agreed with him.


After that, we'd been talking a lot.
One of the topic I was interested in was a Craig's story.
He said his hobby was hunting and he has often gone to safari to hunt animals.
He said he has shot a lot of animals.
The other guys put their hands on their heads as saying " woooo..." .
Craig didn't care about them and continued it. He had already loaded a lot at the time.
He said the best game was a elephant. He said that when a shot elephant fell down, it shed tears.
We had gotten disgusting.
Jack asked him what did you do with the elephant after that.
He said he had left it 'cause it was too big to bear.
The other guys said " I can't believe that! You're cruel!" and a four letter word.,
and they have left.
I thought Creig didn't have a word as "Animal protect" in his mind.

After that, I talked with him for a while. He complained about Japanese people's behavior.
For examples, he said they ignored and left him when he asked them something on the street.

He said most of Japanese people were rude to foreign people.
I said actually that was the point but it might be just the difference of culture.
It was too late so, I said him Good night and left him.
When I went to the washroom to blush my teeth, I heard Craig's voice and staff's.
It seemed the staff had been claiming him to leave the terrace.

7 or 8 French young girls have been dancing as drinking wine in the lounge in spite of midnight.
They had been singing as YMCA as making each letters by their hands in order again and again.
This song is belong to Hideki Saijo. As you know it's original song by the village people.
I don't know where they learned. But it was definitely the way of dance of Hideki's.
My first night in Kyoto had been passing like this.

Well, I've borrowed the same book Sayid had bought and another one from the prefectural library.

「雨の日には、雨の中を　風の日には、風の中を」
When it's a rainy day, go for it in the rain.
When it's a windy day, go for it in the wind.
It doesn't have words that mean "go for it",
but I think that these words suggest it.

This is the most famous phrase.
「つまづいたって　いいじゃないか　にんげんだもの」
It means It's OK. Even if you make a mistake, ' cause you're human.
I think that in other words it means a human isn't a computer, so sometimes you fail. It's naturally.
I guess this is a phrase for you when you're going to down.
His phrases are a kind of remedy for a lost sheep, so his books are popular to young people.
