A 21-year-old male student comes to your clinic with several hour history of epigastric pain. He describes the pain as sharp and it awoke him this morning. When he comes in your clinic his epigastric pain is somewhat alleviated. He vomited twice prior to his visit but denies fever, diarrhea, constipation, dyspepsia, dysuria, low back pain or a recent history of traveling.
His vital sings are stable. He seems be in mild to moderate distress but abdominal exam is not significant except for epigaistric tenderness without rebound tenderness. He is mildly dehydrated otherwise there are no other abnormal physical findings.
STAT CBC, chemo profile and sed rate are all within normal limits.
