Estimados Hermanos todos deben saber que hemos sido azotados por un intenso Huracán " Gustav "de categoría 4 con rachas de vientos superiores a los 340 Km. por hora en algunos lugares y vientos sostenidos de 225 Km. por hora. Para buena noticia somos un pueblo de mas de 86000 habitantes y no hubo que lamentar perdidas humanas, existen grandes daños de consideración a las viviendas, entidades, etc., Pero tenemos muchas fe que saldremos adelantes de esta mala jugada que nos ha hecho pasar la madre naturaleza, les envío fotos de algunos daños causados, son impresionantes. Esto es una muestra de la organización lograda y la experiencia acumulada en este tipo de evento por nuestras personas y la información oportuna del Estado Cubano. Los descendientes de Japoneses y Okinawenses les enviamos estas muestras que sirvan de experiencia para los que vivimos en una zona amenazada por estos eventos meteorológicos en diferentes épocas del año. El Mensaje fundamental "Toda precaución siempre es pobre ante un Huracán de esta magnitud ".

Dear Brothers and sisters
Everybody should know that we have been affected by an intense hurricane "Gustav" which is a category 4 hurricane with gusts of winds surpassing 340km right now in certain places and winds sustained of 225km right now. For the good news, we are a town of more than 86000 habitants and we did not have to lament any loss of people, however, there exists great damage concerning housing, etc. But we have a lot of faith that we will make it and move forward from this unfortunate instance that mother nature made us go through. I am sending photos of some of the damage that was caused, they are quite remarkable. This is a demonstration of the landed organization and the accumulated experience in this type of event and the information that was well timed on behalf of the state of Cuba. We are sending these demonstrations to the Japanese and Okinawan descendants. These demonstrations serve as experiences for those of us who live in areas threatened by meteorological events during different times of the year. The fundamental message is "All precautions are always poor/weak before a hurricane of this magnitude".
