Contact Press Images seeks a full time person to manage the digital imaging workflow at our New York office.
Duties would primarily consist of:
Organizing the archive of digital images and adding to our database. Checking quality control of the digital image files, captions and keywording.
Managing the digital production in the office, this includes digital images transmitted and tracking the scanning, retouching, and color correcting of film and prints.
Preparation of stories for distribution, with some editing and captioning responsibilities.
Maintaining the office computer network, server and ftp site.
Secondary duties would include the involvement in regular updates of the website, development of exhibition and book projects
Candidates must be detail oriented, have a good knowledge of photojournalism, documentary photography and follow current events. This is not a shooting position but an interest in photography is essential. This is good opportunity for someone to gain experience working on a variety of documentary and news projects at a leading international photo agency
Requirements: -Solid skills with scanning, retouching and color balancing images. -Experience handling archival negatives, slides and prints -Photoshop -Mac OS X and Classic -Captioning /Keywording -HTML / CSS / dreamweaver -Must be available to work occasional weekends
Helpful Experience: Working with Camera Raw files
Compensation based on experience.
