As I am involved in media and using media to teach/learn English more and more, I am beginning to see once again Japan can fall behind of the new global trend with the Internet based networking and business and everything else.
Open Source movement is simply a movement in which consumers ( individuals ) generate "content" of their own using softwares and web functions that allow such freedom.
Google for one thing is a leader who allows users to customize google search ( see my earlier posting ), and wikipedia, and pretty much all SNSs are some form of open source movement.
In this movement, the key thing is the language. For now, English remainds to be the main language and will stay that way for a long time.
I do not think Chinese will replace English though the needs to know Chinese may increase. But, Chinese or other language do not provide the efficiency of English as everything out there is pretty much based on how English works.
I hope our younger generation can keep up with the rest of the world.
