The purpose of this community is to exchange views. I've been asking by so many English speakers about how to make a living or how to find a job or how to be sponsored.
Let's exchange views! I personally would like to answer questions when I have time.

My name is Demian and I'm currently working as a translator in Tokyo.
Regarding work in Japan for foreigners, there seems to be many opportunities all over this country, especially in Tokyo.
Obviously, for the newcomer, the Internet is a vast resource into securing that first job.
There are plentiful websites that deal with finding foreign people a job.
In addition to the above websites there are also numerous English language periodicals and newpapers with classified adds in them. The Japan Times, Monday edition is especially good.
I'll post more resources and comments when I come across them.
Recently to work as an English teacher at Nova and other major English schools is not so easy as before. But to join Gaba, new English school, is not so difficult.
If you do not have an experience or even do not have college diploma, you can get a job. Two persons I know recently could obtain job there.
ECC and other kids English school might be good for your wife, too.
Hi... I hope this community is still alive and well! I'm Karen, a British female hoping to someday work in Japan as a Graphic Designer/DTP Operator.
I have 3 years commercial experience in Graphic Design and am currently studying for a degree in Graphic Design.
I have lived in Japan before, working as an English teacher and also working at a Japanese-only speaking factory. I hope to pass level 2 JLPT Japanese this year.
I was just wondering if you had any advice regarding Internships? When I graduate I was thinking my best bet was to go to Japan as an English teacher and then look for Design companies to sponsor me, but was wondering how likely this was and how hard it is to get a company to sponsor you. (Most job adverts say "MUST HAVE VALID VISA" >_< )
