You guys are awesome, answer my slang's question & let me understand fully. So I throw away another one of questions for long time ago. Thanks in advance!
OK, again, the story is...... I met someone on traveling & we traveled together for a week. Then I got a postcard from him few months after and he wrote the above sentence. I already asked my another native English speaker friend what he does mean actually and she told me it's sth like: he enjoyed traveling with you VERY MUCH.
I'm just wondering how he enjoys traveling with me? is it really that VERY MUCH enjoying with me? and is it usual to say sth like "it hasnt been the same XX without u"? I had written it to a Spanish travel buddy who speak English well, then he replied: you are so sweet. Is it kind of sweet saying??
My best friend in Montreal said to me,
"Montreal just isn't the same without you."
It means that, to her, Montreal isn't as much fun without me, and that she misses me.
So he probably meant that travelling with you was so much fun, and now that you're gone, it's not as much fun any more.
Well, it's has been stated by your friend and the above posted comment... the person enjoyed the time traveling with you & misses having you there.
but....
there is also the hidden(subtle) meaning in the message too... seems like there were some sort of feelings shared or that this person is trying to gently tell you that he likes you, but in a not so direct way!
Basically it all depends on how you read into it... only you & the other person/people know what happened on the trip. We are just getting a brief overview of the story from one side.
I don't say it often, but I have said it before. It's quite
affectionate. I would never say something like this to a
guy, but I would say it to a girl who was a close friend.
