So why is it that the Japanese don't like Rice Pudding?
In Britain it's a delicacy. At school we would drop in a dollop of strawberry or apricot jam, then mix it around until the rice pudding went red (or yellow for apricot). Sugary loveliness!
I could eat it because we cook rice and red beans with sugar,it's called Sekihan in my town, however why I'm not pleased with rice pudding is the feeling, like baby food...and waterly rice and jam.....
Anyway, good luck for your own community!
I love both rice pudding and pork pie!!
When I visited a friend this winter, she made me a rice pudding, which she cooked in the oven for 2 hours, and it was fab!
Pork pie, they are ideal for picnics.
I wonder where I can find them in Tokyo...
There is a shop which sells "English food" (baked beans and so on) in Tokyo, but I don't know if they sell pork pies. In any case you can make pork pies quite easily. See:
