喜撰法師、Kisen Hōshi

「わが庵は
　　　　　都のたつみしかぞ住む
　世をうぢ山と人はいふなり」

"I live alone in a simple hut south-east of the capital,
but people speak of me as one who fled the sorrows of the world
only to end up on the Hill of Sorrow."

生没年不詳、九世紀中頃の人か、古今集序で僧と記されるが詳細不明、六歌仙の一人

Kisen Hōshi
The dates of Kisen Hōshi’s birth and death are unknown. He is thought to have lived around the middle of the 9th century. The preface to the Kokin Wakashū identifies him as a Buddhist monk, but little else is known about his life. He is regarded as one of the Six Immortal Poets (Rokkasen).
