Running Linux on the iPod? Sounds pretty cool... I'd love to give that a try myself, but I'll probably end up waiting until you (or someone else) get it to work. ;) ;)

I did a little googling around. Looks like the iPod has PortalPlayer's PP5002D. It is an ARM processor. ARM is little-endian like PowerPC and Intel, though if memory serves me corectly, you can change the endian settings on PowerPC somehow.
