a line has the equation y=mx+t. (I'm using t here to avoid confusion)
x,y are points on the line
m is the slope
and t is the y-intercept.
since the y-intercept is b, t = b and thus the equation becomes y=mx+b.
The x-intercept is the x value when y=0, cuz that's where the line passes through the x-axis.
