A local Okinawan contractor was pronounced dead today after being seriously injured while working at a construction site near a residential housing area on base. Emergency responders treated the worker on scene before transporting him to a local hospital. The incident is under investigation by the Okinawa Prefectural Police.
KAB extends its thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the contractor. Out of respect for the family, please refrain from speculation regarding the details of the accident as the investigation is still being conducted.
