Isn't it always great to be have compliment from people we know and ever from people we really do not know. I genuinely think it does not matter the depth of our relationship with him or her to be given any forms of appreciation. There are several ways that I can think of to express it. Giving a gender and thankful word, Buying a small present, making something and writing a letter etc....
I especially love receiving a hand-written letter. It makes me that my presence is special to that person. This is very fortunate that I got a letter from one of the Korean students who used to attend the university for Japanese programme at where I work now. In spite of the lack of my knowledge about her, she gave me a letter this afternoon, just before she left Japan. It was very touching. I could sense that she made an utter effort in writing that letter (she is a Korean butshe wrote me in Japanese). To be honest, It was a bit hard to comprehend her writing. Yet, I somehow could understand it fully and did not feel frustrated at all with her inadequate writing skill in Japanese.
It was one of my happiest moment to come to realise that I had done something good for her/his. Receiving a compliment always gives me warm feelings and even confidence in my own character...
I think so, too. It may be a little different from your experience, but I have also experienced similar things.
I once lived in a foreign country for some 10 months. There, I stayed with a family of foreigners. They treated me very kindly carefully and as their child. I was pleased with that and also kind to them.
Now, they still write to me and send me some gifts. It is very delightful to me.
Thank you for your comment on my dairy. I am obliged.
Isn't it great to find someone who has the same
experience in the past time?
about your time in another country. Which country were
you for 10 months? Is it English-spoken country as the
first language?
I feel envious that you seemed to have a memorable time
with your hostfamily. Unfortunately, for me, living with
host family did not turn out to be as nice as I had
expected when I was in Queenstown in NZ. So, you are a
lucky one to have met them. As the proof of it, you are
still staying in touch with them, aren't you?
