Interpreting language is required both flexibility and expexience...
I had dinner with two foreigner as a part of my job tonight. It was of course pleasant time to have conversation with them in English. The problem was that I had to interpret from English to Japanese. Because my boss and other stuff joined this dinner meeting,as well.
It was officially my first time to do so in my life. What was particularly difficult was that I had to explain how Japanese food was cooked that was served to those foreigners and to us. Whenever, dish was delivered in front of us, I had to explain as specific as possible so that they could get the idea of what kind of food they were going to put in their mouth. Expectedly, there were loads of dishes I found difficulty in describing what they were, how they were cooked and what sort of taste they had etc... In spite of my struggle and frustraion in being unable to explain fully and well. It did not give me discomfort at all. Besides, it was a free dinner. There is nothing to mumble about. Hopefully, I can do well for the next occasion.
Hello, nice to join this community and read your sentences.
I can't use English as well as you, but I've experienced what you wrote here. However, my experience is not official like yours. I can say both language has paticular expressions culture and nationlity has made. So that, we can explain and interpretet all the words, can't we?
But in saying that, that's the interesting thing in languages, I just think. Hoping you will do a great job for the next time.
glad to have your thoughts and agreement from you.
thank you---.
i will make every effort to reinforce my English
ability in order to be able to interpret effectively.
hope we can stimulate our English proficiency by
exchanging messages in this community to be better!
