It is with great disappointment that I am unable to attend the Sexy International Paris Film Festival. I was delighted and am honored that two of my films have been selected to appear in this prestigious festival. Despite attempts to rearrange my schedule, I could not manage to work out a way to make the trip to the festival. It is not because I am watching the World Cup. I am actually on tight deadlines for projects I am currently writing. For a long time, I have wanted to visit Paris I could walk into the café bar where Jean-Pierre Léaud witnessed shooting in, “Masculin, féminin: 15 faits précis.” I have also wished to visit the pont de Bir-Hakeim, the site of the memorable scene from “Last Tango In Paris,” in which Maria Schneider showed her panties. If I were to make the trip to the festival, I would have the opportunity to visit the pont. However, my life does not always go how I’d like it to. The characters in my two films, “Blind Love” and “A Lonely Cow Weeps at Dawn,” similarly cannot always live in the manner they prefer. They struggle for change to improve their lives. Some people say that “Blind Love” resembles Chaplin’s “Lime Light,” but I think it could more closely resemble “Cyrano de Bergerac.” My desire to work with the late, great actor, Mr. Horyu Nakamura, in a pink film, enabled me to create the odd film that is “A Lonely Cow Weeps at Dawn.” I wish that even French people, who are cool but have a sharp tongue, will enjoy my films.
