I work in a marketing research company, Intage inc.
Our mission is that
we collect Data from retail outlets and consumers nationwide,
analyze the Data, and provide the data for major consumer goods manufacturers to make market strategies.
Now, I've negotiated with all my clients about contracts next year.
The negotiation is very tough, because our company requires them
to raise **% of the estimate this year.
Some clients got suprised and others completely got angry.
Of course, I also got suprised.
Although it is difficult for me to negotiate,
Some contracts were concluded by the effort of explanations many times.
In addition, I almost finished to negotiate with one of the most important companies today.
Three years ago, I lost the trust from a person who works at a company which is one of the important clients.
After that, I've worked more hard and carefully for the client to recover what I lost.
But, It was not easy for me to recover it.
She often got angry with my boss and me over and over, because of the distrust on us.
I'd gradually gotten tired physically and mentally.
I really wanted to run away from there at that time.
However, the situation has been changed.
Every year, our company collects questionnaires to evaluate it from all our clients.
When I watched her questionnaire, I was very surprised, because all of her answers are good.
I talked with my boss immediately and shared each feeling.
It was the most bitter experience I ever had.
However, the awful experience taught me never give up.
Also, it brought us a great pleasure.
My name is Sachiko and I'm an event coordinator and co-editor of English/Japanese yoga website called "Hello Yoga!" as well as a bilingual yoga instructor.
I learned about your first and second books,
"Instant Self-Hypnosis:
How to Hypnotize Yourself
With Your Eyes Open!"
"Self-Hypnosis Revolution:
The Amazingly Simple Way to
Use Self-Hypnosis to Change Your Life!"
through Amazon Japan and found them very interesting. The reviews were great as well here in Japan.
I have a couple of questions that I would like to pose.
First, I was wondering if you were interested in having your workshops or seminars for Japanese audience.
As you might know, Japan now faces a serious problem of depression. The number of people who committed a suicide hit the record this year and the cause of death for many of those people was sadly enough misapplication of their prescribed drugs from clinics...
People need different perspectives. They need them now. And I thought your unique way of approach would give them a light of hope, especially your book says "instant".
Please advise me if you were interested and if so, please provide me with some brief ideas how you normally proceed your workshops, seminars or anything you do back home.
Another topic is your second book sounds very interesting but it doesn't seem to have yet translated into Japanese. If no one in particular is assigned, I would love to do the work. Also please let me know about this.
Please feel free to ask me any questions or inquiries you may have.
I'm Robert Morrison, one of Forbes Robbins Blair's business partners (and his best friend).
Forbes is -- sadly -- dealing with his sister's passing (she was mentally ill, and she committed suicide over this past weekend). Ironically, you mentioned depression and suicide in your very kind email to him.
Two questions I know he'd have are:
* where you work/live,
* would the seminars need to have interpreters (and would they be in front of English speakers)
* (the other questions I'll let him ask you)
I talked with Forbes by phone, and he was very happy his books had a positive influence in your life. He wants me to thank you. :)
Thank you very much for your quick response.
I feel so sorry for the pass of Forbe's sister. Please send my deepest condolences to Forbes...
To answer your questions...
* where you work/live,
-I am currently based in Tokyo, Japan. You can reach me anytime at +81-80-5650-1789.
* would the seminars need to have interpreters (and would they be in front of English speakers)
-Yes, they definitely need interpreters if you do ones in Japan. I can take care of the English-Japanese part, and my fellow instructor, an Australian, can do the Japanese-English part so that we can save a lot of time. If you want to hear my voice just to see if it's suitable for hypnotherapy, I can send mine or simply you can call me.
* (the other questions I'll let him ask you)
-Sure!
Please tell him these above with my deepest love and tell him not to hesitate to ask me if there is anything I can do to help him.
Thank you for your patience. It's been a challenging 6 weeks.
The timing of your original email to me was very interesting. I had just suffered the loss of my sister with complications dealing with depression. She lives in another state. At the same time, I had just experienced great success with a client dealing with depression. It is a strange synchronicity.
So it seems that this issue has and will become increasingly important to my work as a hypnotherapist and possibly as an author.
It is also interesting that so many suffer from depression in Japan. Both of our cultures place a lot of pressure on citizens to achieve a lot. And it seems that success and pressure come with a heavy price.
I am currently developing a program for people dealing with chronic depression. It may be of interest to you, though I am a long way from finished.
My classes here in the states are pretty straight forward in discussing my findings with Instant Self-Hypnosis. And I do see how that technique combined with proper scripts, may be of great value to people with depression.
Let's continue to discuss this and perhaps as I develop even a few scripts for relieving depression, we might find an excellent reason for me to come to Japan. I'm, of course, honored and excited at the prospect of visiting Japan. A friend of mine recently returned from a visit. And I was awed by the pictures he took and the stories he recounted. I want to be certain when I do come to you, I have something to offer beyond just promoting my books: and perhaps concentrating on the issue of depression will be that offer. What do you think?
My name is Shu and I'm a office worker in a Japanese major marketing research company, Intage inc. for six and half years.
I'm writing to ask you some questions about Rotman School in University of Toronto.
During first two years in my company, I'd worked as a programmer to develop of sales information systems at a pharmaceutical company. After the two year, I've worked in sales division. Now, I have more than ten major pharmaceutical companies as clients like Japanese global companies and traditional ones. We share clients' individual marketing issues, support them to make marketing plans for developing goods and check marketing activities by our solutions.
***
We analyze and provide sales trend data collected from pharmacies and drug stores to develop clients' market strategies.
We conduct a variety of surveys to launch new products. For example, package, concept and product surveys.
We make forecasting models by analyzing their sales trend data.
We analyze sales activity data to plan sales strategies next year.

I am very satisfied with my job, because I could grow up with them.
On the other hand, through the experience, I start to think of trying new field of working.
So, I would like to study in your MBA programs, because you have the classes I can't wait to take; In particular, Integrated thinking and business design.
■integrated thinking
I am expecting to take this class, because it would be very important for me to learn how to solve the complicated problem.
I know that the course helps me to cope with problems that have a lot of serious concerns.
It would be the basis of thinking when I work in the future.
■business design
I've never heard the class, business design, around the world.
I would like to help companies not only improve or develop but also change drastically or build new business.
The class helps me learn how to design businesses that face several problems.
And then, I have some questions about Rotman School.
1.
Can I start to work at consultant companies and service design companies like IDEO and InnoSpa.
Can I work as an intern at these companies with your help?
Do you have graduated students who found a job with these companies?
2.
I would like to apply for your program, but I don't have English score of TOEFL ibt enough.
So, I plan to take ESL courses of U of T next spring and summer.
The course indicates that the students get B in level 60 class there, they can apply for graduate school in U of T without TOEFL score.
Like this, can I apply for your MBA program without TOEFL score?
My dad died, when I was four years old. It was the bitterest experience of my life. When sports events held in schools, I sometimes felt ashamed, because only my dad wasn't there. I was suffered from a feeling that I was different from my friends. However I've always been supported with my family.
First, my brothers and my sister have been kind and generous to me.
My big brother is approachable. He is ten years older than me. He’s always taken me on special little trips, such as Disney land, theaters and baseball stadiums. He even took me on his date! Also, the brother and I often went to the river that my family had often visited. In his car, he talked with me about past memories of my family that I hadn’t remembered His humorous talks always made me happy.
The second brother is my role model. He was a good soccer player in a famous soccer team of a high school. He got up early, went to the school for morning practices and came back late. When he was senior at the school, he was vice captain in the team and core player of the team. At that time, I also was a soccer player of a club in an elementally school. So I respected my brother as a soccer player. After eight years, I decided to enter the same school. And then, when I joined an amateur soccer team that he was head coach in. I was watching him all the time.
The sister is generous. She might know that I had the feeling that I was different from friends. She always supported me economically. For example, I hadn’t had my own bicycle during the elementally school. But when I entered a junior high school, she bought me a new bicycle. It was expensive, so she paid much money from her wages of a part-time job for it. But I lost it few days later by my fault. Of course, she was gave me a scolding, but next day she took me to the same bicycle shop for buying a new one.
Finally, I’d have to mention my mother. She is kind and taciturn to people. But at the same time she’s been powerful. After my dad death, she started her own private school. She’d worked as a Japanese teacher in a junior high school before she got married. There, she taught students several subjects such as Japanese, mathematics and English. After the school, she had to be mother. She raised four kids. She had all of us to graduate from universities.
Of course, my dad death is the bitterest things, but it makes our relationship strong.
