I have played music for you over many years with great pleasure. I've performed with wonderful musicians in Japan… Amos Garrett, Hiroshi Sato, Bun Okajima, Fritz Richmond, Harry Hosono, John Sebastian, Hiro Arita and many more, but now I return to Japan with the musicians of my roots… the first band I played with… The Jim Kweskin Jug Band. This is a group of American Music masters… the Original Hipsters that influenced The Grateful Dead, The Lovin' Spoonful and other bands from the 60s. I cannot wait to play again with these Crazy Music Makers! Maria changed the world with her singing and her colorful Bohemian fashion look (see cover of Rolling Stone); Jim Kweskin is one of the great American folk guitar pickers and the biggest hero for John Sebastian and many other musicians; Bill Keith is one of the most important musical innovators of the banjo (Scruggs, Keith, Fleck). He reinvented Bluegrass Banjo and he even reinvented the banjo tuning pegs!!; Richard Greene made new sounds for the violin/fiddle with The Jug Band and with the rock band, Seatrain. They are all so accomplished. Gee, what will I do? These guys are too good!!
We will see you soon… and we'll be "Having a Wonderful Time" in Japan.
