As far as film-compositing-tools-with-a-future go Lindsay Adams, Lead Compositor at Animal Logic believes, “There really is Nuke and nothing else. Other products out there are either dying or don’t have a future. With The Foundry, Nuke has a solid, responsive and committed development team that listens to its users, and it’s an application that you can use to get shots finished today. Nuke is really moving forward in a changing industry.”
8 June 2009, leading visual effects software developer, The Foundry, today announced that Industrial Light & Magic has purchased a site license of Nuke.
"ILM has a history in providing breakthrough imagery for production and to do that, our artists need to be equipped with the best possible tools. We believe Nuke is a forerunner in the compositing field. The Foundry’s investment in research and development and customer-focused approach has produced a flexible, artist-focused tool set. We are excited to work with The Foundry and see where these new possibilities will take our work." commented Richard Kerris, CTO, Lucasfilm.
The Foundry does not currently recommend using Nuke with Mac OS X 10.5.7 due to an issue with Nuke that manifests itself as instability. Apple have been notified of the bug found and are working with us to resolve the problems. We will notify you when a fix for this issue is available. We apologise for this unforeseen inconvenience.
As of November 2009, Nuke and its respective Foundry OFX plug-ins (Furnace, Tinderbox, Keylight and Ocula) will no longer be supported or actively developed on Mac OS X PPC. We will, of course, continue to support Mac OS X (Intel). If you have valid maintenance for Nuke which you specifically purchased for Mac OS X PPC then we will support Nuke until that present maintenance expires. Nuke 6 will not be compatible with Mac OS X PPC. We still support Mac OS X PPC for our other plug-in hosts (eg FCP, After Effects). Please contact our sales team or alternatively contact

if you have any questions.
We have started a youtube channel. We want to showcase your work.
