hi, i am a japanese girl living in a small town near Apeldoorn. here is nothing, just lots of natures and animals. sometimes i see small houses in the wood... my place is also one of them
so... i just wonder...
which would you like to live; in a big city or a small city ?
both have several good points, e.g. in a big city; you see people who from the same country as you, meaning they could help you out in any way if you are new, also could be good friends to hang out with. in a small city; you would be rare, could be only one in the town ! everyone would be curious about you.... nobody knows you.. confortable for you ?!
I prefer a bigger city, but not all big cities are nice I think. For me Amsterdam for example feels so much more crowded than Kyoto (which has twice the population of Amsterdam).
Small cities are boring overall, there is usually not much to do and impossible to do some good shopping.
I understand your point of 'feeling rare' in a small city, but that could also be a disadvantage. I know its nice in the begin, but after a longer time it might get annoying.
i totally understand how you feel in the small town ! im exactly like you ! It takes almost 20min to go to the closest store by bicycle for me also ! so i am seriously thinking about moving to a big city...
who do you live with ? a host family ?
luckly i live with roommates, so im not lonely even during weekends.
I I live in Wageningen right now, I lived here all my life and I was born here I like living here, and I like small cities.
but I wouldn't mind to live in a big city
