Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Campus Visit/Meeting: After weeks of negotiations, we've managed to get the high-profile Mitsubishi Heavy to come to Texas A&M. In case you don't know what they do, Mitsubishi Heavy covers a broad spectrum of stuff from shipbuilding to commercial aircraft design. The visit will consist of an informational session followed by a Q&A/interviewing session the following day. The meetings will be geared towards those who wish to work in Japan in the future, hence both parts of the campus visit(including interviews!) will be conducted solely in Japanese. All majors, whether undergrad or graduate, are invited, but you will need to RSVP if you want to attend. Times, dates, and places for the visit are as follows:
Oct 7 (Tue): Informational Session, 6:30PM-8:30PM, MSC231
Oct 8 (Wed): Q&A, Interviews, 11:00AM-1:00PM, MSC231
The ISTPP is inside the Allen building. Room 1063 is also inside the Allen Building. It is a large central room (with a long hallway on either side) on the ground floor. When you enter the building from any entrance, there will be a map on the wall with all the rooms listed. And though this map doesn't show it, the bus stop for the #5 Bush School route is on Research Parkway, just north of Parking Area 111. The bus makes a 10 minute circuit (MSC-Reed Arena-Bush School) until 6pm, at which point it runs only semi-regularly.
For those who'd prefer to drive, there is visitor parking (Lot 47) on the west side of the Presidential Library. It can be reached from Research Parkway or by taking the Barbara Bush Parkway off of George Bush Drive. It's about a five-minute walk from the Presidential Library to the Allen Building. Very scenic, though.
