☆ENGLISH ONLY☆コミュのSex in Japan

Because of Christian values sex out here in the west is a relatively taboo topic, even if in the 21st century things are as casual as ever. However the notion of casual sex, a.k.a one night stands, multiples partners, even pre-marital sex is generally frowned upon in many fronts. Just curious, to all you Japanese out there, what are your views on such topics? Do you think one-night stands are okay? Do you guys think waiting till marriage is a preposterous idea? What is sex's association with love for you?

What, are you joking? You lived were in japan for a bit, what do you think?
I'm wondering that myself. I always thought that sex in Japan was really taboo to the point where you can get jail time if you have sex in someone's house..that is if you were a foreigner. Is sex even allowed among minors and since Religion is'nt as strict there as it is here in the states. Japan has to be real taboo. A lot of that notion came from some Japanese AVs and they blur the meaty parts. Again, that's just a notion I'm going with, excuse me, a hunch.
I have to agree with DanceStar, Westerners do lack Self-Control...

That's why you don't see Alcohol or Cigs in Vending machines either...

But, I don't think that has everything to do with it...

I'm no pro, So i won't try to prove why...
I strong disagree with one-night stand SEX!!! One of my friend got baby because of that. and some of my friends got STD becuae of that. I think all of us should have sex with only bf or gf!
STD is everything,........
And i think sex is taboo topic everything too, maybe
apart from India and France!
o_O

This group continues to grasp for the bottom...
but we're still not there yet.
I do think Americans [cause I am American and I don't wanna judge something else I don't know] lack self control, BUT one reason IS because sex and liquor and those things ARE taboo. Would people lack self-control if nobody had an opinion??? Or do things like Christianity's influence create an environment in which people's guilt makes them do wild things???
maybe its jus the people i hung out with, but i noticed alot of guys had multiple partneners and basically never use condoms. it seems that japanese men tend to cheat on their wives more than americans do. but maybe my opinion was swayed from who i hung out with. i dunno..
Let's not confuse "American" values with "western" values. Views on pre-marital and casual sex are considerably more liberal in many parts of Western Europe, which are also predominantly Christian.

Nor should we confuse what is being promoted with what is actually happening.

Even if we look at the US, there seems to be a gap between the conservative attitudes to sex which are being promoted and the realities on the ground regarding teenage pregnancy and STDs.

That's even before we start looking at regional differences in attitudes.

As far as Japan is concerned, pre-marital sex is the norm rather than the exception.

What is the point about demanding people wait to have sex until they are married, when it is so easy for people to divorce?

Regarding multiple partners (I assume we aren't talking about threesomes and group sex, rather than having several partners on the go at the same time), in most cases the various partners are often unaware of the presence of other partners. at any rate they usually do not approve of rivals on the scene. This would suggest a norm of monogamous relationships in Japan.

I personally don't think there is anything morally corrupt about casual sex if one is not in a relationship. Of course, there are risks associated with such activity, and one is responsible for their own actions.
And here I thought I was going to read a self-inflating post about how much pu$$y somebody gets.

>>Captain Random!
Yet so delectably close. It's like Christmas Eve; what will be under the tree tomorrow morning.
Shinnosuke,
True that there are parts that are predominantly Christian, even today, however, people feel differently for some reason. That reason is connected somehow with Christianity, but not completely ALL due to the religion itself, but towards the evolution of attitudes.
Also, where Japan is concerned, why would they have anything against premarital sex? Of course, religion in Japan is debateable, but at the same time even if people in Japan have and are influenced by some kinda of religion, premarital sex is not addressed or even paid attention to, except by the Christians of Japan who make up an extremely small percentage of people...
Hey, isn't the American Absitence rate on the raise?
