I moved to Japan on the 3rd of March, just 1 week before the big earthquake and tsunami hit, guess I have a great sense of timing?!

I thought I would find plenty of fellow Gaijin to talk to while I learn Japanese but so far have onlyseen a handfull and those that I met often spoke little to no English.

So, trying at Mixi. I would love to hook up with English speaking people living in Japan to communicate with. Also happy to help anyone trying to get better at English. Sadly won't be able to help people that are just starting as I do not speak any Japanese so it would make teaching you rather difficult ;)

I'm located in Chiba, Hanimigawa Ward but seeing I'm tied to two young kids can't travel very far.

How about trying this website?

I sometimes go to "IslishBar hub" Kashiwa, Chiba
with my english friends.

Just tommorow 5,August night 18-21
we are going to go Kashiwa hub with 5 friends.

And I just bought "Macbook Air", haha.

We have meeting like this twice a month,
Then if you had any interest on it,
would you give me a message?

We want English-only People & Learn Japanese people.

Thankyou.
I made a mistake.

Mistake: 5, August Saturday 18-21 Kashiwa hub

Correct: 6, August Saturday 18-21 Kashiwa hub
I know a few people who teach martial arts in Kashiwa. An American guy named Rob Renner does some sort of exercise thing which apparently is popular with Japanese housewives lol. He's pretty cool but a bit of a pervert (in a funny way....nothing dangerous).
Duncan Stewart is an Australian guy who has a Ninja Kids class in Kashiwa. If you want to get the kids out and doing something he might be worth looking up.
Both Rob Renner and Duncan Stewart are very advanced martial artists....at the Shihan level. They train at a dojo in Atago which is a short train ride from Kashiwa. If the martial arts interest you, there are classes most days with different Western and Japanese shihan....there are a lot of Westerners who travel to Japan to attend these classes.

Wow, a lot of responses, thank you very much all.

Thanks for the website "www.gengosensei.com" just had a quick look and looks interesting.

Of course I'm learning Japanese but right now I'm just looking for people to chat to, make friends!

Thanks also for the pub suggestion, I really like the idea of meeting up with several English speakers but would need something closer to my home, I'm in Hanamigawa Ward. Its because I do not have a car and cycle everywhere, also have a sweet 4 year old boy and 1 year old girl that I look after.
